Latest Updates
This is to bring to the attention of Candidates that the Nigerian Defence Academy Screening Test will now hold on 10th April 2023at designated centres.
All candidates are expected to come with their acknowledgement card, NDA Screening Test Admission Card, Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration slip, two Postcard size (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs.
Each candidate is to write his/her JAMB registration number, full names, state of origin, chosen course, name of the test centre and signature at the back of the photograph.
All candidates are to wear their facemasks and face shields as any candidate without this protective equipment will not be allowed to write the Test. Please note for strict compliance.

The authorities of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) have announced that prospective candidates can proceed to select their exam centres and also print their exam cards.
Brief Info About Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)
The Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA was established on 5 February 1964. The Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA was brought to existence in response to the defence needs of independent Nigeria to train officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The institution became known as the Nigerian Military Training College after its independence in 1960.
NDA objectives
NDA’s purpose and objective are to provide each officer cadet with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to fulfil a military officer’s requirements through military, academic, and character growth.
The NDA is basically an institution in which selected young qualified men and women are groomed into well-educated, brave, virile, and erudite subalterns. NDA Exam Centres Selection.
Administration Pattern
The military institution trains the officer corps of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force. The initial class had only 62 cadets, and the trainers were mostly officers in the Indian Army.
The Nigerian National Defence Academy (NDA) follows the pattern of similar NDA in Khadakwasla, Pune, India
First Commandant
The first commandant of NDA was Indian Army Brigadier M.R Verma. The NDA grew to an all Nigerian training staff only in 1978.
Bilateral Training
In 1981 itself began bilateral training of foreign militaries. In 1985 the academy commenced offering undergraduate programmes to Military Officers In Training and now also currently offers post-graduate studies both for Msc and Ph.D for both military and civilian students alike.
NDA Mission Statement
The central mission remains the training of young officer cadets in the 5 years “Regular Combatant Course” in which cadets are groomed in Military, Academic and Character development to instil discipline and leadership skills.
According to global best practices, culminating in the award of a bachelor’s degree and presidential commissioning into the rank of secondlieutenantfor Army cadets or equivalent in the Navy and Air Force for respective cadets.
Until 2011 this course used to be exclusively for males, the first set of female cadets commenced training in September 2011. As of 2019, its total cadet class is around 2500.

NDA Cut-Off Mark
According to the management, only candidates who score a minimum of 180 (for Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Military Science & Interdisciplinary Studies) and 210 (for Faculty of Engineering) in JAMB 2023 examination shall be offered admission into NDA by the AFSB.
NDA Exams Centre Selection and Printing of Exam Cards Procedure
The selection of screening centres would end by 11:59 pm on Friday, 31st July 2020.
Applicants must select their centres and print out all forms before then.
